Astral Drive Elementary School Art Auction

The Grade 5 students in Ms. Grant’s class collaborated with a resident artist (their amazing EPA) to create this remarkable piece of art. The colour blocking background was inspired by a ‘home design’ show one of the students watches regularly. The tree was added to represent the tree featured prominently on the classroom wall; it symbolizes growth, strength, and knowledge.  In keeping with a modern motif, the abstract circles – inspired by artist Wassily Kandinsky – were added to the tree to represent balance in life. Growth, strength, knowledge and balance are all pieces in the puzzle of life.  This piece was created using acrylic paint on high quality canvas and measures 30” x 40”.
